James’s relevant experience includes:

  • Founder, CTO, and Director at Tritium from 2001 up until its NASDAQ listing in 2021.
  • Expert in public DC fast charging equipment, usage trends, and future directions
  • Setting and implementing technology strategy & product roadmaps with a view to future market demand
  • Understanding value to the customer
  • Growing technical teams rapidly
  • Assisted with five capital raises at Tritium over a 10-year period

Founder, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer, James has more than twenty-five years of experience in startups, power electronics, electric vehicles and charging equipment, electronics product manufacturing, and public infrastructure.

James views the grid-scale product area being concentrated on by Virtos as the next frontier of worldwide electrification of transport, and the next step up in both product maturity and production volumes for the industry.  He started Virtos to pursue exactly these aims.

James has a long association with electric vehicles & charging equipment.  Prior to Virtos and Tritium, James was involved with the University of Queensland’s SunShark solar racing car.  He has also been integral in other non-EV battery storage projects, ranging from James Cameron’s Deepsea Challenger submarine to multi-MWh stationary storage systems in green buildings.
